Moving On From the Big C. Love, Amy: March 24, 2023: Seven Weeks of Healing Done. More energy. Waiting for Operation 2. :)

Happy spring! Week 7 of healing completed! Week 7 of healing and I am so grateful to everyone for their support! Time is passing, here I am in front of our paint-by-sticker poster and you can see it's starting to fill up with color. Thank you so much for the dinners, phone calls, emails, & visits. Friends, you all have been the best. Thank you for helping me and Erik keep things running smoothly. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 I have been hard at work mastering how to sleep soundly again! It's taken a bit of getting use to the way my chest feels and responds to gravity is different. Slowly I've been getting my energy back - it's really just been a matter of getting back into regular sleep. I am back to working out, and I'm regaining my mobility in my shoulders.  I still get tired more easily, but I'm back to driving.  And I'm very happy about climbing back on the stair stepper in the mornings!  I'm so looking forward to getting even more energy back and getting out i...

Moving On from the Big C. Love, Amy: March 10, 2023: Five Weeks of Healing Done.

  Week 5 of healing and I am so grateful to everyone for their support! Thank you so much for the dinners, phone calls, and emails, and even a surprise visit from out-of-town.  Friends, you all have been the best! With all of  the doctors appointments and keeping the kids going to all of their outside-classes (both curricular and extra curricular), these past few weeks have been a marathon of driving!  Thanks for feeding us.  It meant that there was one less chore for Erik to get done, in terms of driving, getting groceries and cooking.  Thank you for taking care of us! ***** It's been 8 days since the doctor gave me permission to sleep in a position other than on my back.  And I'm finally making a meaningful reduction in my sleep deficit!  Some other things that have opened up for me, in the last 8 days: I got take my first shower since my surgeries (AND WASH MY HAIR!!!).  I'm getting to raise my arms above shoulder height.  (I've lost ...
